Events
While most of the funds we need for the project will be in the form of grants from funding bodies, we will also be trying to raise money by holding a series of fundraising events for The South over the next five years.
Sons of the South
Richard and Lorna at Girvan and District Great War Project have very kindly offered to host a fundraising event inspired by the war memorial plaque at the entrance of the South Parish Church. It will feature local actor Frazer Kirkland and Richard Conaghan of the Great War Project in an audio-visual tribute to some of the names on the memorial.
Fittingly, it will take place in the billiard room at the McKechnie, which was the recruitment office for Girvan during the 1st World War.
Many thanks to Pete Scally for the costumes and props that will be used in the performance.
