Become a Member
Get behind the project by becoming a member of ‘The South’, the organisation that aims to purchase the South Parish Church as a community venue and bunkhouse. Being a member is the best way of showing your support for the project.
Because we are a ‘two-tiered’ SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation), we need members who live within the community. Members will be invited to the Annual General Meeting, or any other General Meetings, and will have the right to vote on any motion that is proposed, and choose who the trustees should be.
Members must be from Girvan or the surrounding area and be over 16.
If you don’t feel you can commit to being a member, or you don’t live in Girvan or the surrounding area, you can still show your support for the project by signing up to be a supporter, which simply means that you will receive regular updates about the project, and we use our list of supporters to demonstrate that the community is behind the project.
The more supporters and members we have from within the community, the easier it is to persuade funding bodies that we have that community support, and that the project deserves to be funded, so please do consider signing up as a member or a supporter. Both are free, and all that is required is emailing us or writing to us to become a member – you can find the details here – or filling in the simple form below to be a supporter.
We will only use your personal details to keep you updated on how the project is going, and we will not share it with any other organisation or person without your permission. See our privacy policy here.
There will also be opportunities to volunteer during the project. If you feel you have something to contribute, please tick the box on the form, or get in touch with us on the contact page.
